Are you curious if teeth whitening is right for your smile? Do your teeth look stained or discolored? Teeth can become stained when particles build up on the enamel. Staining particles come from food and drink such as coffee, wine, tea, cola drinks and tobacco. Pinnacle Dental Associates offers a safe and effective, in-office teeth whitening process. Here is some additional information to see if it is right for you.
Who Should Get Their Teeth Whitened?
Do not be embarrassed about asking if teeth whitening is right for you. Most people who consider whitening their teeth are looking to lighten their teeth, giving them a brighter smile. When someone feels good about their smile, they tend to be more self-confident.
Is It Safe for All Teeth?
Whitening toothpastes are not always the best option if you are looking for a safe whitening method. Those products tend to be abrasive and can cause damage to enamel if used too frequently. That is why it is important to consult with your dentist to see about safe methods to whiten teeth, especially if you have sensitivity.
It is important to note that any sort of dental work such as crowns, veneers or fillings will not be altered through the whitening process.
Our in-office whitening is done using the Sinsational Smile whitening system. This 20-minute service brightens teeth two to five shades, with less teeth sensitivity than other industry leading teeth whitening systems. The Sinsational Smile teeth whitening process involves an LED accelerating light that stimulates the gel’s whitening agents to work at a faster pace, leading to a brighter and whiter smile in a shorter time. This treatment is intended to work in conjunction with biannual teeth cleanings. A whitening pen is included for home use to maintain your brighter smile!
What Can You Expect at a Teeth Whitening Appointment?
Patients should expect a one-hour appointment for their in-office whitening application. Sinsational Smiles comes with pre-filled trays that we activate with a UV Light. The whitening process can take 20-30 minutes depending on the level of whitening desired.
At the conclusion of the appointment, we compare the shade of the tooth (before and after). The patient should be aware that sensitivity can be a side effect of whitening but normally will subside after a day or two. Typically, patients experience less sensitivity with Sinsational Smiles due to the lower processing time.
How Long Does It Last?
Sinsational Smile Systems is designed to complement semiannual teeth cleanings. You can safely whiten your teeth every six months and use the whitening pen at home to maintain your brighter smile.
