Little athletes love sports drinks!  These popular beverages are colorful, tasty and can be refreshing to drink after a game in the hot sun, but they can also be harmful to developing teeth. To protect your child’s smile from the acid and sugar that these drinks contain, limit their intake to only after a game, and not all-day consumption.  It is a great idea to be in the habit of swishing with water after drinking a sports beverage or fruit juice, too, as this can remove some of the acid that can cause trouble. Water has a far smaller marketing presence, but it’s still the best way to hydrate after physical activity – and it contains no sugar! Always, our top priority is taking care of your smile.
